A June, 2007, article in Money Magazine, quoted a Michigan State University study that found "landscaping adds more value than almost any other home renovation. Besides the personal enjoyment you'll get from a prettier yard, landscaping is the one home improvement that actually appreciates over time. Depending on where the house is located, high quality landscaping adds 5 percent to 11 percent to its price." The article recommends using larger sized, unique material for a more significant impact, adding drama through the use of interesting foliage, and regular, professional maintenance.
