While the process may vary depending on your individual requirements and the complexity of the project, most design projects include the following:
Initial Consultation: This is a chance for us to meet each other, to review your requirements and objectives, and to walk your site. To get the most from this experience, it is best to have a budget in mind, a clear idea of how you want to use your property, any ideas regarding style, amenities you desire and whether you have problems that require solving. You can expect me to ask many questions.
Concept or Preliminary Plan: (Example) After listening to your ideas and priorities, I will analyze your site's character, strengths and problems, accurately measure and extensively photograph the site and then draw up a concept plan for your review. This is an important step that allows both of us to be sure that all desired design elements are included and make any necessary changes prior to creating the final plans.
Master Plan: (Example) This is the final design phase which will show the exact design and location of all features and elements, placement of trees and focal points and suggested materials.
Planting Plan: (Example) This is a working drawing from which the garden will actually be planted and includes the plant botanical names, container sizes to be purchased and specific plant locations. It also includes detailed installation instructions for your contractor.
